AFEX has responded to the increasing need for Automatic Fire Suppression Systems. The AFEX detection system relies on a point thermal type sensor that is shock and vibration resistant and is installed in and adjacent to fire hazard areas. Once exposed to continuous temperatures of 300° F, the AFEX Sensor closes and completes the electrical circuit to the electrical actuator which then activates the system. The detection system is energized by the equipment's power supply and no additional battery is required.
When necessary to monitor the power supply, detection loop integrity, and electrical actuator firing circuit, we incorporate the AFEX Circuit Monitor to provide audible and visual alarms along with operator controlled delay functions. We have avoided inappropriate technologies such as microprocessors by designing a solid state monitor that interfaces with the AFEX detection package and withstands the most abusive environments.
AFEX automatic detection is an integral part of your complete AFEX Fire Suppression System, or can be an add-on to your existing manual system. Together, the monitor and detection package, represent a significant advancement in the protection of your mobile equipment.
