1. 35 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
Our thirty-plus years of discovery, innovation, manufacturing and testing of fire
suppression systems designed exclusively for mobile equipment ensures that your equipment
is protected with a reliable and proven system. AFEX can customize, install, and guarantee
a fire suppression system that works. This dedication to a narrowly focused vision has
produced a product that is as tough as the equipment it is designed to protect.
In all other industries where mobile equipment fires are a
problem, AFEX Fire Suppression Systems are the preferred means of fire protection. We have
set the standards by providing the most reliable vehicular fire suppression system to
industries including mining, timber harvesting, sanitation landfill, and now,
transportation equipment.
4. PURPOSE BUILT PRODUCT
At AFEX, we have one philosophy, one technology and one product. Each component is
designed or selected with one purpose in mind to build the most dependable
vehicular fire suppression system. Our simple design facilitates the use of gas leak
detection, engine shutdown, and other special features without deterring the operation of
the system or the vehicle. The AFEX fire suppression system is simple, rugged, dependable,
and virtually accidental discharge-proof.
6. MAINTENANCE AND RECHARGE MADE EASY
Where ease and economy of service is critical, the AFEX system is a low
maintenance, cartridge activated system. AFEX systems are installed, serviced, and
recharged with standard tools, eliminating the need for special equipment. Unlike stored
pressure extinguishers, AFEX system recharges are simple and can be performed on location.
Empty cartridges are easily replaced and extinguishers are refilled through the large
opening at the top.
7. RELIABLE AUTOMATIC DETECTION
Fire suppression systems with reliable automatic detection put out fires and reduce
maintenance time. AFEX offers the industrys most dependable detection package, as a
detection only package or an automatic actuation package. The AFEX detection
system relies on a point thermal type sensor that is shock and vibration resistant and is
installed in and adjacent to fire hazard areas.
When necessary to monitor the power supply, detection loop
integrity, and squib firing circuit, the AFEX Circuit Monitor provides audible and visual
alarms and operator controlled delay functions. We have avoided inappropriate technologies
such as microprocessors by designing a solid state monitor that interfaces with the AFEX
detection package.
AFEX automatic detection, as an integral part of your
complete AFEX Fire Suppression System or as separate detection only package,
provides early warnings of fire or overheating conditions.
