Fire Suppression for Heavy Equipment

ONE EQUIPMENT FIRE CAN STOP PRODUCTION

A fire can put an operator at risk, damage a critical machine, and interrupt the work around it. AFEX helps you select fire suppression matched to your equipment, fire hazards, and operating conditions.

  • Help protect operators.
  • Help limit fire damage and costly downtime.
  • Get protection designed around your machine.

Protection Built Around Your Equipment

Equipment size alone does not determine the right fire suppression system. Machine layout, fuel and hydraulic fluids, hot surfaces, debris buildup, and operating conditions all affect the protection needed.

Automatic Fire Suppression

Automatic detection can identify a fire and activate suppression without relying solely on someone discovering the fire and responding manually.

Equipment-Specific System Design

The suppression agent, system layout, and nozzle placement should address the hazards identified on your machine. AFEX offers dry chemical, liquid agent, dual agent, and compact systems for different equipment needs.

Built for Demanding Conditions

Questions Before You Get Started?

It is an onboard system designed to discharge a suppression agent into identified fire hazard areas on a machine. Depending on the configuration, it can include automatic fire detection, operator alerts, and automatic and manual activation.
When the detection system identifies a fire condition, it alerts the operator and activates suppression according to the system’s configuration. Nozzles direct the suppression agent into the areas the system is designed to protect.
AFEX offers dry chemical, liquid agent, dual agent, and compact systems. Dry chemical provides rapid flame knockdown. Liquid agent suppresses fire and cools hot surfaces, helping reduce the risk of reignition. Dual agent systems combine these benefits where the application calls for both.
No. Tell us what equipment you need to protect. We’ll help determine the appropriate protection based on the machine, its fire hazards, operating conditions, and applicable requirements.
Yes. Regular inspections and maintenance help keep the system ready to operate. Follow the maintenance schedule for your specific system, along with applicable requirements. Operators should also complete the recommended pre-shift checks.
The same system type may suit several machines, but the layout and protection needs can differ. Equipment configuration, fuels, hot surfaces, debris buildup, and operating conditions all affect system selection and design.
Yes. Include the equipment type, make, model, location, and number of machines, if known. Your representative will confirm any additional information needed to develop your quote.
AFEX works with trained distributor partners around the world. Include your country and equipment location when requesting a quote so we can confirm the appropriate installation and service support for your project.
