Raleigh, NC, USA, May 10, 2022 – AFEX Fire Suppression Systems, specialists in designing and manufacturing fire protection systems for heavy-duty mobile equipment, held its largest training school event in the company’s history on April 26-27, 2022, in Raleigh, NC. This annual, two-day event educated distributors on system components, installation, maintenance, and industry trends, all with the goal of certifying AFEX partners to excel at installing and servicing fire suppression systems for their end user customers.

Educating Distributors Representing Eight Countries
To support worldwide fire suppression system installations, AFEX works with a variety of distributors across the globe. The 2022 training school was attended by over 60 distributors representing eight countries, including the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Peru, and the United Arab Emirates.

With a focus on continuous education, distributors attended the interactive training school led by a team of AFEX product support experts. In addition to standard instruction, the distributors watched videos showing suppression systems in action, fire testing for third-party certifications, and installation best practices. They enjoyed a live demonstration of an online documentation tool and got hands-on with the industry-leading AFEX Control Unit panel. The distributors were also able to check their understanding throughout the course by interacting with a live polling and Q&A tool on their mobile phones. Finally, every distributor completed a certification test at the end of the event and took home key documentation to aid in future installations.
Networking Event to Connect with Their Peers
To foster relationships between distributors in a less formal setting, AFEX hosted a networking event at Drive Shack following the first day of training. Distributor partners were able to golf while discussing industry knowledge and fieldwork with their peers and the AFEX operations, sales, and marketing teams.

“After postponing the annual training school for two years due to the pandemic, we were excited to see such a strong level of interest in the event this year,” said Rod Cavallaro, President of AFEX. “The AFEX team recognizes and appreciates the commitment of our distributors in attending our training school to stay up to date on fire suppression system installation and maintenance best practices, in addition to learning and sharing relevant industry trends and insights. Thank you to all who participated.”
